You may not be aware of it, but the John Rylands University Library offers its own training for researchers across the University. The focus of the courses is information management in its various guises (from using Endnote to avoiding information overload). You can book yourselves onto their courses directly via their own version of the Training Calendar which you can access using your username and password at: http://www.library.manchester.ac.uk/courses/calendar/
They also have their own Twitter page and Researcher blog, which you might also want to take a look at. You can access both from http://www.library.manchester.ac.uk/usingthelibrary/researchers/ The blog currently has a couple of You Tube videos on display which may help if you’re looking for some basic (and I mean basic) tips on gathering information from the internet.
