We’re now taking bookings for all Research Staff Development Programme sessions up to the end of December 2009. If you’d like to book a place on any of the sessions outlined in the brochure (that you should have received recently through the internal mail – let me know by e-mail if you don’t have one, and we’ll get a copy out to you asap) please go to the Research Staff Training Calendar at http://www.humanities.manchester.ac.uk/humnet/acaserv/pgresearch/training/researchdev/calendar/
Places on all courses are limited and booking closes 2 days before the event. If you book a place and subsequently find that you cannot attend you can cancel the booking through the system until 2 days before the event. After that, you should not cancel except in unforseen circumstances as it is difficult for us to offer your place to someone else at such a late stage. To make a late cancellation you would need to contact us by e-mail.
The next session, on ‘Managing Research Relationships’ will be held next Tuesday (27th October) from 12.00 until 14.00 in University Place, room 5.206. In this workshop, Dr Sarah Dyer, a Hallsworth Research Fellow, will present some of the results of her research into the researcher-PI relationship and Dr. Gale Owen-Crocker, an experienced PI and AHRC award-holder, will offer some advice on how to get the most from your time as a researcher.
