The next Research Staff Development workshop will be on ‘Coping with Academic Pressure’, and will be held in University Place room 5.206 at 12.00-14.00 on November 10th. The session will be delivered by a representative from Manchester University’s counselling service, and is based on a longer course which is run for academic staff across the University. The pressure and stress associated with (especially early career) academic work is one of the main reasons that many promising researchers decide to leave academia. This workshop will help participants to recognise signs of stress and will offer techniques for managing stressful situations in their current role, and into the future.
If you would like to book a place on this workshop, please visit the Research Staff Training Calendar at: http://www.humanities.manchester.ac.uk/humnet/acaserv/pgresearch/training/researchdev/calendar/
The session will take place at lunchtime, so feel free to bring your sandwiches.
