Simon and Hallsworth Research Fellowships 2011

The Simon and Hallsworth Fellowship Schemes use generous endowments to appoint a number of Research Fellows each year in the Social Sciences and Political Economy. Research support for the Social Sciences is provided principally, though not exclusively, by the Faculty of Humanities, the largest Faculty in the University.

Please note that these Fellowships are not intended to support postgraduate students.

Hallsworth Research Fellowships, Faculty of Humanities

Applications are invited for:

Hallsworth Research Fellowships (Ref: HUM/11807) two posts in Political Economy, including Commerce and Public Administration, tenable for up to three years from 1 September 2011 and open to excellent early career scholars who have completed a doctoral degree and have already demonstrated a potential for research in relevant subject areas. You will receive a generous allowance for research expenses.

Interviews for the Hallsworth Fellowships will be held on Tuesday, 17 May 2011.

Salary will be within the range for Lectureships: Grade 6 £29,099 – £35,788; Grade 7 £36,862 – £45,336 per annum according to qualifications and experience

Simon Research Fellowship, Faculty of Humanities

Simon Research Fellowship (Ref: HUM/11808) one post in any of the Social Sciences, broadly conceived, tenable for up to 3 years from 1 September 2011. This fellowship is intended for outstanding early career researchers who have completed a doctoral degree. A record of research and publications or demonstrated potential for research in relevant subject areas is essential. You will receive research expenses of up to £1,000 p.a.

Interviews for the Simon Fellowship will be held on Thursday, 19 May 2011.

Salary will be within the range for Lectureships: Grade 6 £29,099 – £35,788; Grade 7 £36,862 – £45,336 per annum according to qualifications and experience
