Tuesday, November 19th 11:00 – 13:00, University Place 5.206

The session will encompass two parts.

–  ‘Raising the profile of your research’ will look at how, in the light of the ever-increasing information overload faced by researchers, you can improve your chances of attracting large and relevant audiences to your research.  In particular, the session will cover some of the common and emerging web-based tools available for this.

–  An introduction to bibliometrics and citation analysis’ will look at sources of citation data (e.g. Scopus, Web of Science, Google Scholar), citation indicators (e.g. percentiles, field-normalised citation scores, H-index) and journal impact rankings.
